Lynn and I took Jeff and Michelle to see the Casino du Lac-Leamy
Crystal Garden last night. Lynn had done the Winterlude research and
the ice sculptures were voted the thing to see so we headed off across
the border to the casino. Turns out that the Casino du Lac-Leamy
Crystal Garden isn't at the Casino du Lac-Leamy. After everyone had a
chance to use the facilities (and I had lost $5 to a mean spirited
slot machine) I asked the guy at the information desk. He gave me a
confused look that sort of morphed into a look of shock as he must
have thought to himself, "I'm going to screw with these fucking
anglos." He sent us of to Dow's lake, the farthest end of the Rideau
Canal Skateway, and no where near Confederation Park where the Crystal
Garden is. After we drove to Dow's Lake and found that we were in the
wrong place again, we went to Pub Italia where we succeeded at eating
lots of food and drinking lots of beer.
